CULTURAL
UNIQUENESS:
Sunderban
represents a society of people, whose main profession is fishing, catching
crabs, honey collection and agriculture. The people live in villages
adjoining forests. For survival these people fight with nature day in and day
out. As they live close to the forest area they often come in conflict with the
top predators of Sunderbans like the Royal Bengal Tiger, the Crocodile
and Sharks . However instead of vengeance these people have learnt
to co-exist. Infact the wildlife is held in high regards by these people. The
hardships of daily existence have given rise to fraternal feelings and non-communal
traditions. People of different religion worship the same Gods and Goddesses.
The most famous among them are Dakshin Ray and Banbibi. Dakshin
ray is the god of tiger and Banbibi is believed to be the protector
of the inhabitants of the forest. People who venture into the forests worship
these two gods. On
the whole it may be said that the Sunderbans is an experience which is worth witnessing. For
nature lovers all over the world sunderban is must.
